Friedel Family

Portrait of Anton and Johannah (Gerritzen) Friedel family

Family portrait of Anton Joseph Friedel, Johannah Gerritzen Friedel, and their children

Friedel threshing crew, Manchester, Oklahoma. Frank Busch could very well be in this photo because he lived in Manchester for a while (from 1900 or earlier to 1916).

Tombstone of Josephine Friedel Busch

"Josefa" (Josephine) Friedel Busch, sister of Anton Friedel, was Frank Busch's first wife and died a few days after giving birth to their son, Frank G. Busch, in February 1902. This cemetery is in Manchester, OK.

My best guess at the writing at the bottom:

"The dead in Christ
are surely best
For they partake
his heavenly rest.
"

Frank married Mary Elizabeth Gerritzen the following year. Josephine's brother Anton had married Mary's sister, Johanna Gerritzen, in 1897. (See Anton and Johanna's family above.)

A Note about Photos
We're sharing our photos with you--will you share yours with us? Our ancestors probably would have liked all of their descendants to have everything they left, and with the copying technology we have now, it's possible for all of us to have copies of all the photos and documents. Even if you don't have a scanner, you can use a machine at a store to put a copy of a photo on a CD that you can send by e-mail.
